welcome to the start of our urban gardening experiment. this summer lucas and i (freshly married and in possession of alot of excess energy) are going to see what kinds of vegetables and flowers we can grow on our terrace.

we live on the 4th floor of a 14 story building in downtown rochester, ny that was recently converted to residential lofts. we are one of two units in the building with a big terrace outside of our apartment (that we reach by climbing out windows) and plan to take advantage of it!


Yesterday we started seedlings in planters indoors since its still pretty cold outside at night.

today we bought the lumber and constructed 5 planter boxes that are 4' x 2'. we plan to use what we learned from www.squarefootgardening.com to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers!
